If you have recently been keeping track of the ALexa shakers and movers... You know the OpenOffice .Org has received a lot of traffic. I happened to be using the office 2.0 and just upgraded to office 3.0. It's amazing the changes and features they did and still keep absolutely free. Ofcourse, the are open source programs, they should be free. Unlike, Microsoft that charges for every small changes it does for no good reason. More of all it includes support for Mac OS X users also.
What else do you want? and what are you waiting for? Check out the new software at openoffice.org and the new features
OpenOffice.org 3.0 has proved popular, and less than one week after its release, has been downloaded more than three million times.
One cool thing I liked is the feature of supporting office 2007. Here is the information about Office 2007 support from OpenOffice.org
Microsoft Office 2007 Import Filters
In addition to read and write support for the Microsoft Office binary file formats (.doc; .xls, .ppt, etc.), OpenOffice.org 3.0 is now capable of opening files created with Microsoft Office 2007 or Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac OS X (.docx, .xlsx, .pptx, etc.). Thus, OpenOffice.org users can interact with users still using Microsoft Office. The various filters for the Microsoft Office file formats also make mixed environments possible, so that some users stay on Microsoft Office while others use OpenOffice.org.
Have you been planning on buying Microsoft Office 2007 this might be good alternative.
